DENOMINATION

Madeira D.O.P

GRAPE VARIETIES

Tinta Negra

VINEYARDS AND VINIFICATION

Grapes from one quality vineyard of Estreito de Câmara de Lobos. Grapes were pressed in a continuous press. Arresting of fermentation takes place at the desired degree of sweetness by adding vinic alcohol (96%).

LOT

This wine originates from the same single vineyard of Tinta Negra that we produced the 1997 and 2000 bottling. Half the grapes were harvested a week before they reached full maturation, thus obtaining higher initial acidity levels.
This wine was aged along the last 12 years by the canteiro method under moderate temperatures in old French oak casks. In March of 2012 we bottled 3.210 units, all individually numbered.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

SERVING & CELLARAGE

This wine was naturally aged in cask and bottled in its purest state. To show it at its best serve between 11oC and low room temperature 12oC. If you get a chance to aerate the wine, it will help the Madeira to show its best. This wine was filtered and does not require decanting; it will last and maintain in good condition several months once opened.

TASTING NOTES

Gold pale colour.
Hints of toast, caramel and citrus. Quite fresh start in a dry finish, marked by a persistent acidity. Wine full of vivacity.
Excellent as an aperitif. Accompanies well olives, toasted almonds and cheese. Very good with starters such tapas and pates.
