Verdelho & Boal

VINEYARDS

Grapes from various quality vineyards. Verdelho from São Vicente and Boal from Prazeres. Grapes were pressed in a pneumatic press. Arresting of fermentation takes place at the desired degree of sweetness by adding vinic alcohol. (96%) This wine was aged in casks of French oak in the traditional Canteiro method.

LOT

In 2007, Ricardo Diogo chose casks 12 (2001 Verdelho) and 46 (2003 Boal). This time, he decided not to worry about blending the wines in equal parts. Thus, 610 litres from cask 12 was blended with 540 litres from cask 46. For this VB he wanted the delicateness and acidity of the 2001 Verdelho and the strong structure of the 2003 Boal. We bottled 2118 bottles all individually numbered

Serve best at 11/12oC.
This wine was filtered and does not require decanting; it will last & maintain in good condition several months once opened.

TASTING NOTES & HARMONIES

Gold colour.
Nice aromas of tart baked citrus, smoke nose; soft, creamy textured, tart lemon, baked lemon, tart apricot palate with medium acidity; long finish.
Excellent as an appetizer, fish stew, fried swordfish eggs, marinated and or smoked fish.
